The artist is wearing a white tunic, girded with a rope. He is standing next to a large tree trunk, using a mallet and an axe to chop a wooden block into small logs. On the floor lies a strip of gray canvas with the inscription "Romantic Mass". In the background the gathered audience, behind Bereś on the right side standing (from the left) Andrzej Pawłowski, Jonasz Stern and Ludwik Pindel. The architecture of the basement is visible.
