The artist is covered only with wooden loincloths, on which the inscription "Bereś" is visible. His torso and arms are divided by horizontal lines. He is standing in front of the first table ("traditional altar") and painting a line on his thigh. On the table there is a knife, a loaf of bread, slices cut off, a jar of paint. The audience gathered in the back of the room, among them Władysław Józef Dobrowolski and Ewa Gutowska.
