Manifestation description:
The interior of the gallery has the character of a store. A large display window faces directly onto the street. The space is crowded. Thin legs are attached to three wooden boards about 10 cm thick and about 1.5 meters long. They form an arrangement of three long tables of varying heights. The first one is the height of a normal table. It stands right next to the window, parallel to it. The inscription ALTAR OF TRADITION is painted on the board facing outward so it can be read from the street. There is a loaf of bread on this table. Half a meter behind the first table stands the second one which is 10 centimeters higher. It bears the inscription ALTAR OF BEAUTY – a bottle of wine and glasses are placed on it. On the third highest table the inscription ALTAR Of CEREMONY is displayed. There is some cake on this table. When the audience arrives, the artist enters the room dressed only in hip covers. At the “Altar of Tradition” facing the audience gathering on the street, he dips the brush into black paint, divides his body with horizontal lines and slices the bread. At the “Altar of Beauty,” he alternately pours wine into glasses and paints a green leafy twig on his body. He then proceeds to the “Altar of Ceremony.” He alternately paints black dividing lines on his face and cuts the cake into pieces. The audience gathered in the gallery, somewhat disadvantaged until now since the author was facing the street, is invited by him to treat themselves to the contents of the tables. They eagerly take advantage of the artist’s invitation.
