The Manifestation was followed by an exhibition “Jerzy Bereś. Living Monument – Prophecy II”

Description of the manifestation:

The author awaits the audience while standing atop the Living Monument. Tied to the structure, he forms part of it (see: item no. 2/m/68/056 and item no. 58/m/88/222). After the audience arrives, he recounts the history of the monument’s creation and the reasons for its reconstruction at the Krzysztofory Gallery in 1988. He then dismounts from the monument and, standing naked atop the pile, paints a white letter S on his body, followed by a red streak on his back. Subsequent white letters on the front are followed by red streaks on his back. Eventually, the letters form the inscription SPEŁNIA SIĘ (THIS COMES TRUE). Together with the inscription on the cloth, which is tied to an arrowhead and hangs next to the author, he creates the sentence: PRZEPOWIEDNIA II SPEŁNIA SIĘ (PROPHECY II IS COMING TRUE). The author ends this sentence with a red-and-white dot painted on his penis. He then invites the audience to join the discussion.
