Picture of Poland

11 VI 1986

Dziekanka Gallery, Warszawa
manifestation as part of the international meeting Now and Beyond time  (9-13VI)

Description of the manifestation:

Two pots of paint and brushes stand on a white pedestal. The artist enters naked and announces his intention to paint a picture. With white paint, he paints the letter B on the front of his body. Then, with a decisive brushstroke, he draws a red stripe on his back. He paints another white letter on the front and again draws a red streak on his back. He continues painting the picture in this manner for a while. He stops when the word BOYCOTT appears on the front. He then asks the audience whether the painting is good or bad. A discussion ensues.
